Maddy Carty

South London-born singer/songwriter Maddy Carty is an ex-BRIT School student, in the same class as Adele and Jessie J. Maddy went on to study composition and performance at Leeds College of Music. After graduating, she headed back to London to form her own band, and record her debut album, Come And Get It. Drawing her inspiration from Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, India.Arie and Van Morrison, Maddy writes all her own material. She has performed at top London venues including Ronnie Scott’s Bar, the Troubadour in Earls Court, the Hootananny in Brixton, the Half Moon in Putney, and has also appeared at Rootikal – David Rodigan’s club night in Shoreditch. Maddy has recently supported Madness and Norman Jay at the House of Fun Festival, and performed at Notting Hill Carnival, the International Ska Festival and the More London Summer Festival. She is increasingly playing to sell-out crowds, as word of her special talent, and unique style of feel-good urban originals, spreads.
